My thoughts on Critical thinking, The soul of communication
This article provides examples of how expensive it costed businesses and projects due to the incompetence, or the lack thereof good, effective communication.
From my past experiences, I agree that it is very important to be able to communicate effectively in order to progress or lead a project. I found myself struggle in a group that rarely communicated to meet deadlines. I therefore stepped up and talked to every group member, clearing up their roles and actively checked in on their progress. This has massively improved our group’s efficiency in meeting our deadlines.
Being a leader as defined in the Cambridge dictionary, is to be in control of a group. Hence it is of utmost importance to be able to relay information effectively to every person in the group, and for them to understand their roles and jobs. The need for these skills are especially important in the workplace as I would be working with a lot of people which would make the relay of information difficult. In conclusion, a leader with the ability to critically think will be an important asset to any company due to his ability to bring people together through effective communication.
